I love working with pastels! It is one of my favorite mediums, but in order to preserve the paintings, I use a spray fixative- which I don't like to use because of the chemicals.

It's great that kids don't have to worry about all that though:)

Thank you for sharing another great tutorial. I'm so glad I joined your blog recently!

Oh me too, Kim! It was a huge blessing. Thank you, my friend. Daniele - exactly. That is my prayer - grace in moving forward. An honor to get to know you better as well.

I didn't even mention that I had the privilege of stopping to visit with my great-aunt on the way home. So many, many blessings from the weekend.

Maralena - how wonderful you grew up and learned how to swim at that spot. It's beautiful there! I was so surprised by the blue - usually the Atlantic is brown - at least when I've visited the GA coastal islands. @Angie Wright - yes, you Oregon coast gal - I imagined you right there - and you'd do a fabulous job with a west coast BEECH!

It looks wonderful! I just love the 4 tote side tables. We are doing some renovations to our home. I am going to have to show dh these tables for our living room! :-))) We spend lots of time on our sofa, as well. There is nothing like all cuddling together to read a good book!

Each Tuesday, I am hosting a linky called "Try a New Recipe Tuesday." It would be great if you wanted to share recipes for your tasty looking treats! Wow, even stuffed shells! Very impressive.

Have a blessed weekend,
Lisa
P.S. Stopping by via WWU. :-)

Tricia, ditto everything everyone else has said. I WISH I had a red couch! (Does that sorta count for the "great minds" thing? ha ha!) I got organized over the Christmas break, but things have slightly fallen apart what with the other stuff going on now. The second I turn my back, all our stuff flings itself around the various rooms of our house!

It looks great! Finding an organizing solution is always a joy, isn't it?

We do so much on our couch, too. It's close to the fireplace and some huge picture windows, so it's always a cozy spot.

I love it when there is plenty of space for organization. We do most of our schooling in my bedroom & I just recently got more shelves & now have all of my books organized on them. I love the neatness of them. My room looks great now. No stacks of clutter.

Wish I could be as organized as you seem to be! Just not in my blood, I guess. We have had lots of sickness here this week...I am glad to hear that Lil Buddy is getting better. Looks like you had a lovely Valentine's Day. Beautiful roses!! Love the photo of Middle Girl researching! Wonderful week to see.

When we redecorated our living room we used baskets/bins for the shelves and coffee table. I think for families they make so much more sense because we NEED things in our space but don't necessarily want to look a them all the time. Clean up is toss and run....love it.

Roses are always the perfect gift. :)

I've had pretty good luck putting my salt dough maps in the oven on low heat to bake. I tried it one time because the dough took so long to dry it started to smell a little moldy. It makes 'em puffy, so make sure your landforms are *very* well-defined if you do that! Of course, we're not sticklers for accuracy (oldest is 7), so air-drying probably the way to go if you want to keep your map the way you made it.

I always love glimpsing into your week...especially when it includes your family's diligent work with nature study. I am so glad to hear that the advanced pages are fitting your older ones. I am seeing a different attitude about nature study in my son as well as we step up the level of learning with the OHC.

Thanks for sharing your work and your fun!

This is my first time to stop by, love the bookshelf. I have a dear friend who has totally redone a whole craft room in IKEA furniture. It is a school room dream. I just wish I had the room for that room in my house. The nature study sheets look really neat. How sweet to give nature a valentine's present! I have some bird seed laying around here. I might have to try that too. Just not frozen we are in Florida so a pine cone w/ peanut butter might have to do. :^)

Great blog!
